Activate Suomi.fi messages – receive letters in electronic format

When you have enabled the Suomi.fi messages, you will be receiving electronic messages instead of paper letters from Finnish public authorities.

The place where you will always find your tax mail is MyTax. This means that you can always open PDF versions of your tax cards, assessment decisions, various letters from the Tax Administration in MyTax. After you receive a new decision or letter in MyTax, a small red dot will appear on the Tasks tab.

What does it mean to use Suomi.fi messages?

Suomi.fi Messages is a service that the Tax Administration and several other public authorities use for notifying you that you have received some official correspondence.

Regarding your taxes, for example, a notification will appear in your e-mail inbox immediately when a new tax card, tax return, decision or letter becomes available for you in MyTax. If you download the Suomi.fi mobile application on your smartphone, the notifications will show in the app as well. After signing in securely, you can open the Suomi.fi app or the Suomi.fi web service to read the contents of the letters and documents.

Suomi.fi messaging is a full replacement of receiving letters by post. No identical letter or document will arrive as a paper version later.

When Suomi.fi messages are activated, you will be receiving electronic messages – instead of paper letters – from Finnish public authorities automatically.
